About Us

We have a staff of nine employees, five full-time and four part-time, that help Dr. Rider make up her practice.  We love seeing all types of animals from big to small from dogs and cats to reptiles and hamsters.  Our Mission Statement: Countryside Veterinary Clinic is committed to compassionate and comprehensive care for all pets. We pledge to provide our clients with a courteous and professional staff, and to educate our clients for lifelong wellness of their pets.

History

Countryside Veterinary Clinic was opened by Dr. Len Jones in the early 1980’s, and was then located in the Beauregard community.  The clinic was later moved to its current location in Opelika to be more accessible for the majority of our clients.  Since the clinic was opened, we have strived to provide our patients with the best medical care we can offer.  As a result, we have established a solid reputation within the surrounding communities for being a reliable and dependable practice. We continue to improve the quality and extent of care we are able to offer, as well as the quantity of beneficial services now available to our clients.

The clinic, as it exists today, is a full-service hospital containing hi-tech equipment and machinery, as well as a laboratory, pharmacy, radiograph area, and surgical suite. We also offer boarding and make house-calls for our clients.   Countryside veterinarians, technicians, and assistants are experienced in handling and treating many species of animals including: dogs, cats, horses, exotics, and others.

Dr. Laura Rider practiced in Florida for 7 years as a small animal veterinarian before she and her husband purchased the practice from Dr. Jones in July 2001.  She is a 1995 graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, and enjoys providing excellent medical care and service to her clients.
