Laura P. Rider, DVM
Dr. Laura P. Rider has owned Countryside Veterinary Clinic since July 2001. She is a 1995 graduate of Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine and practiced in Florida for 6 years prior to returning to Alabama. She has been married to Steve for 17 years and has 2 children, Hunter, 7 and Keely, 3. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding, reading, crafts, and spending time with her family. She has two dogs, Sunny and T-Bone and one guinea pig, Pluto. Dr. Rider is always excited to see different types of animals, but has a special interest in dogs, cats, and exotics.

Jennifer K. Moore, B.A.
As our current office manager, Jennifer maintains the business side of the practice. She is involved in ordering products and making sure that clients have anything that is needed to ensure their pet’s health and wellness. She has been working in the field of veterinary medicine since October 1999. The veterinary clinic, at which she previously worked, Vestavia Animal Clinic, is located in Birmingham, Alabama. She has been married to Chris since October 2007. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with Hayden, Hannah, Little Girl, and Lily their four dogs.

Amanda German, B.S.
Amanda joined the staff in July of 2006 as a full-time technician. She graduated in May 2006 from the University of West Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in Biology Comprehension. She is currently attending vet school as part of the class of 2011. She is married to Josh and has one child, a son, named Lucas.

Cindy Gibson
Cindy came to work at Countryside in March of 2006 as the full time receptionist. She enjoys meeting new people and talking with long time clients, but the pets are the main attraction. She was a professional groomer prior to coming to Countryside. Cindy’s main hobby is going for walks with her best friend, Angel LaRue, a Boston Terrier. Other interests include reading and cooking and part-time grooming. She has a son, Nicholas, who served in the United States Marine Corps. Cindy says that working at Countryside is a very rewarding and enjoyable venture.

Lauren Glesner
Lauren joined the Countryside staff in April 2008. She comes to Auburn from Anniston, Alabama and brings more than 6 years experience to the team. She has worked at two previous clinics in Alabama. She is currently a student at Auburn University. Lauren has a profound love and respect for animals. She is the proud mother of Chevy, her Chocolate Labrador Retriever, and The General Lee, her cat. In her spare time Lauren enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and traveling.

Katie Hammond
Katie came to Auburn from New York City and joined the Countryside staff in March 2007 as a veterinary technician. She is currently attending Auburn University and plans to graduate in 2010 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. After college, she plans to attend Veterinary School and continue on the path to becoming a veterinarian. When she isn't in class or working, Katie spends time with her cat, an Abyssinian named Spenser.

Lacee Hussey
Lacee joined the Countryside staff in May 2007 as a technician. She is currently attending Southern Union State Community College and plans to transfer to Auburn University to graduate with a degree in Animal and Dairy Sciences. She hopes one day to attend the Auburn University Veterinary School. Lacee has a horse and 3 dogs at home that she adores. She has always had a love for all kinds of animals and it is her dream to become a veterinarian.

Katherine Millhouse
Katherine joined the staff in January of 2008 as a part-time veterinary technician and receptionist. She is currently a senior at Auburn University, majoring in Animal and Dairy Sciences. She is originally from Birmingham, AL and previously worked for Liberty Animal Hospital for four years. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach and being outdoors doing activities such as hiking, camping, and bouldering. She also loves spending time playing with her dogs Mallie and Boone.

Kate Oliver
Kate joined the Countryside team in March of 2006. Caring for animals has always been a priority in her life. She is currently a technician and receptionist. She graduated from Beauregard High School in 2006 and just finished two years at Southern Union State Community College. Kate is currently enrolled at Auburn University in the study of nutrition and dietetics. She is engaged to her boyfriend Michael and they are planning to be married in June of 2009.

Douglas R. Tollett, RAS
Doug has been at Countryside since December 2003. He is married to Melissa, and is currently working to support her expensive habit of vet school at Auburn University. He also teaches courses in the new equine track within the Animal Science department of the College of Agriculture. Doug currently helps with the CVC web site.

Gracie
Gracie, a German Shepherd mix came to Countryside Veterinary Clinic in May of 2002. She is our official blood donor who has saved multiple lives with her generosity. In her free time, she enjoys chasing birds and swinging on vines in the back yard.

Blue
Blue Boy, a Blue Heeler, came to Countryside Veterinary Clinic in November of 2005. He is Gracie’s best friend and loves to be outside with her chasing sqirrels. Occasionally he will also be a blood donor, contributing to the clinic's policy of saving lives.

Karma
Karma, a Persian, came to Countryside in January of 2004 and joined our staff as honorary receptionist. When she is not sleeping, she loves to greet customers when they visit the hospital.

Evie
Evie, our resident ferret, loves children and enjoys entertaining clients as they visit the clinic. She is the center of all attention, and clients love to visit her. Elliot passed away on December 4th, 2008, and will be missed.

Bree
Bree, a Red Eclectus Parrot, was hatched in April of 2005 and came to live at CVC in August of the same year. As an unofficial secretary, she loves to attempt to answer ringing phones and check clients in on the clinic computer.
